synopsis

In a rodeo town, Bo, a somewhat simple-minded cowboy, meets Cherie, a singer and nightclub hostess who dreams of a different life, and he impulsively proposes to marry her on the spot. He forces her to take a bus to Montana, but they end up stranded in a roadside diner and bus stop…

Bus Stop

Peut-être le plus beau rôle de Marilyn Monroe, belle, émouvante, désarmée, sublime. On se laisse prendre grâce à elle aux ficelles de cette comédie où d’ailleurs tous les acteurs sont excellents.

André Bazin

Logan would describe Marilyn Monroe as ‘a combination of Greta Garbo and Charlie Chaplin’ after directing her in "Bus Stop", her first film following her studies at the Actors Studio in New York. By forgoing the glitz and glamour of previous roles and embracing her authentic voice, Monroe delivered one of her most moving performances, demonstrating her genius by effortlessly blending comedy and drama as a saloon singer who dreams of making it in Hollywood.
