The Cinémathèque regularly screens unreleased films in theaters in Luxembourg: titles that have impressed juries and critics at major festivals or have been acclaimed by audiences abroad. Enjoy this unique opportunity to see these great films on the big screen in the Grand Duchy!
#CinémathèqueUnreleased will showcase three recent films directed by women from different corners of the globe. Cato Kusters is from Belgium; Lucile Hadzihalilovic is a Frenchwoman of Bosnian origins and Shih-Ching Tsou is a Taiwanese American. Kusters’ Julian is a debut, while Hadzihalilovic has already directed eerie genre fare such as Evolution and Earwig and also co-wrote Gaspar Noé’s trippy Enter the Void. Tsou’s is more well-known as the producer of a lot of Sean Baker’s films, including Take Out, which she co-directed with him before directing Left-Handed Girl solo. The latter was shortlisted in the Best Foreign Language Film category at this year’s Oscars.
