synopsis

Jonathan Demme’s landmark concert film captures Talking Heads at their peak. Shot in Hollywood during their 1983 tour, it builds from a solitary David Byrne into a full-force ensemble whose blend of art rock, funk, and new wave turns music into performance art.

 

The movie is the finest imaginable version of the Talking Heads’ "Speaking in Tongues" tour.
