synopsis
Adam Clayton, bassiste de U2, explore l’essor et le déclin extraordinaires de l’âge d’or des showbands en Irlande, une époque où plus de 700 groupes et des milliers de musiciens se produisaient en concert dans les salles de bal de tout le pays, presque tous les soirs de la semaine, au cours des années 1960.
Showbands were like human jukeboxes. At a time when Ireland was struggling economically and socially, they brought young people together – and their influence can still be felt today.
